Un igname. Il continue de croître d'année en année en poussant à partir de tubercules. Il est légèrement velu. Les tiges ont des taches surélevées mais pas d'épines. Les tiges s'enroulent vers la droite. Il y a 1 à 2 tubercules chaque année. Les tubercules sont à 2 m de profondeur dans le sol sur de longues tiges. Les tubercules mesurent 8 cm de diamètre. La couleur de la peau est orange. La chair est jaune et fibreuse. Il a de grandes bulbilles. Les feuilles sont généralement alternes. La tige de la feuille est aussi longue que le limbe. La lame est ovale ou en forme de cœur et mesure 12-24 cm de long sur 9-20 cm de large. La face inférieure des feuilles est toujours velue. Les tiges florifères mâles sont réunies en 1-2 et mesurent 18 cm de long. Les tiges fleuries femelles mesurent 15 cm de long et ont 40 fleurs.
