Une herbe grimpante. Il a de la sève laiteuse. Il continue de croître d'année en année. Les branches latérales sont courtes. Ils sont minces et violets. Les feuilles sont bondées à l'extrémité de petites pousses latérales. Les feuilles sont ovales ou en forme d'épée et mesurent 3 à 10 cm de long sur 2 à 4 cm de large.
