Une plante de la famille des citrouilles. C'est une plante grimpante. Il repose sur le sol et continue de croître d'année en année. Les tiges sont comme des vignes. Ils ont des poils doux et des vrilles aux nœuds. De nombreuses tiges proviennent d'une solide racine pivotante ligneuse. Les feuilles sont gris-vert et ont une longue tige.
