Un arbuste qui pousse attaché à d'autres plantes. Les branches tombent vers le bas. Ils poussent à partir d'un gros tubercule ligneux. Il mesure environ 1 m de haut. Les tiges sont hérissées et brunes. Les feuilles ont de courtes tiges. Les feuilles mesurent 0,8 à 2 cm de long sur 0,8 à 0,4 cm de large. Ils sont ovales et épais et les bords sont courbes. Les fleurs sont rouges et comme des tubes. Chaque fleur a 5 angles distincts et un motif de barres en forme de V d'un rouge plus foncé. Le fruit est une baie.
