        Un arbuste ou un petit arbre. Il garde ses feuilles tout au long de l'année. Les petites branches sont velues. Les feuilles sont alternes et en forme d'épée étroite. Ils ont des dents le long du bord et sont brillants au-dessus mais rugueux en dessous. Les fleurs contiennent les deux sexes. Ils sont en groupes à l'aisselle des feuilles.
