Un arbre. Il perd ses feuilles au cours de l'année. Il atteint 20 m de haut. L'écorce est lisse et brun foncé. Les feuilles mesurent de 6 à 18 cm de long sur 2 à 5 cm de large. Ils ont de fines dents le long du bord. Les fleurs sont blanches. Les fruits sont ovales et mesurent 15 mm de long sur 13 mm de large. Ils deviennent noir violacé à maturité.
