Une petite herbe. C'est un pissenlit comme une marguerite. Il pousse de 10 à 40 cm de long et de 5 à 30 cm de large. Il continue de croître d'année en année. Il a des tubercules qui sont comestibles. Les feuilles sont en anneau près de la base. Les feuilles mesurent 4 à 40 cm de long sur 0,2 à 2 cm de large. Ils sont en forme d'épée étroite mais de forme variable. Les feuilles près de la base peuvent avoir des dents ou des lobes. La tige de la fleur mesure 10 à 40 cm de long. Il est non ramifié et creux. Les capitules ressemblent à des marguerites. Ils mesurent 2,5 à 5 cm de diamètre. Ils se produisent seuls et sont jaune vif. Ils sont au sommet de l'usine. Le fruit est sec et une graine.
