Une petite herbe. Il continue de croître d'année en année. Il pousse de 40 à 80 cm de hauteur. La base de la plante peut ramper le long du sol et former des racines aux nœuds. Les feuilles ont des tiges et sont finement velues. Les feuilles inférieures sont opposées et les feuilles supérieures sont alternes. Le limbe de la feuille est ovale et mesure 3,5 cm de long sur 1 cm de large. Les nervures latérales se terminent au bord de la feuille. Les fleurs mâles et femelles sont en têtes rondes séparées à l'aisselle des feuilles. Les fleurs sont verdâtres. Le fruit est sec, ovale et côtelé{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
