Une herbe dressée. Il atteint 40 cm de haut. La plante a un anneau de feuilles étroites. Les feuilles mesurent 30 à 40 cm de long et 2 à 3 mm de large. Les bases des feuilles sont de couleur marron foncé. Il y a un anneau de tubercules sous le sol. Ils mesurent 2-3 cm de long et 8-9 mm de large. Ils mesurent jusqu'à 10 cm de profondeur. Les fleurs sont délicates et lilas-mauve. Les 3 pétales ont des franges le long du bord. Les fleurs mesurent 2,5 à 3 cm de diamètre. Ils sont sur une tige centrale de 40 cm de hauteur.
