Un arbre. Il atteint environ 20 m de haut. Il perd ses feuilles au cours de l'année. L'écorce est gris foncé. L'écorce se détache en écailles ligneuses irrégulières. Les petites branches sont densément velues. La tige des feuilles mesure 4 à 6 cm de long. Les feuilles sont variables. Ils sont largement ovales. Ils se rétrécissent jusqu'à la pointe. Ils mesurent 10-14 cm de long sur 6-10 cm de large. Ils sont profondément 3-5 lobés. (Non lobé?) Ils ont des dents pointues grossières sur le pourtour. Les fleurs sont verdâtres.
