Une herbe succulente à feuilles. Il atteint 1 m de haut. Il a des tubercules dressés à partir desquels il peut repousser. Les fruits mesurent 8 à 10 cm de long. Ils sont tachetés de vert et de blanc. Ils ont 4-5 pointes comme des projections. La moelle est blanche avec de nombreuses graines{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
