Un petit arbre à plusieurs tiges. Il atteint 10 m de haut. L'écorce est grise et brun rougeâtre et rugueuse. L'écorce est lisse et blanchâtre plus haut. Les feuilles sont brillantes et étroites. Les jeunes feuilles sont plus larges et ternes. Les bourgeons sont petits et en groupes aux extrémités des branches. Les fleurs sont d'un blanc crème.
